Towcester Museum has been well supported by its local councils.
Towcester Town Council has kindly allowed the museum use of storage facilities for archives and artefacts as well as ongoing support with promotion and marketing.
South Northamptonshire District Council generously gave the current building to host museum on a 1000 year lease as well as two nearby retail units which provide the museum with a much needed income stream. A £20,000 environmental enhancement grant (under Section 106) has also been made available for the refurbishment of the museum buildings.
Northamptonshire County Council provided £6000 dedicated to the fit out of the museum’s visitor and tourist information centre.
