Town Trail – the Towcester and District Local History Society has produced a Town Trail which gives directions for a short walk to visit historic sites and buildings within the town. Copies can be picked up from the museum and St Lawrence Church.
St Lawrence Church – a beautiful Norman church containing a ‘treacle’ bible and a rare cadaver tomb of Archdeacon Sponne, Rector 1422 – 1448. Leaflets detailing items of interest within the church building and churchyard are available at the church.
Bury Mount – a Scheduled Ancient Monument, recently refurbished to create new access to the top featuring an historic timeline detailing key dates in Towcester’s history. Great views over the town from the top.
Watermeadows – linked to Bury Mount via a pedestrian bridge, an area of Grade II* registered parkland, part of the original nearby Easton Neston estate.
Riverside Walk – landscaped footpaths lead alongside Silverstone Brook
Towcester Cheesecakes – don’t forget to try our local delicacy, available from a number of outlets within the town, and made to a traditional recipe unique to Towcester
